Eligibility

  • Open to all student currently enrolled in architectural programme OR any relevance program related to architectural field study at any participating institution INCLUDING participants and non participants of the 31st Architectural Student Workshop.
  • Participation covers individual entries only.
  • Each individual is only allowed to submit a maximum of ONE (1) entry.
  • There is no entry limit per participating institution.
  • Each entry will automatically represent their respective institutions.

>INTENT

Photography is the most influential visual art that grabs the attention of all layers in the community. A photograph captures the moment in a frame of wonderful play of lights, colours and movements. This competition aims to create a visually composition using photographs to interpret unique understanding of xxx!nyala.


>ACTION

Produce a high quality photography to commemorate the 31st Architectural Student Workshop. Choice of subject matters and object of the image is open to any type of selection. The shot may be in color OR black & white and shall include a SHORT TITLE in relevance to the theme xxx!nyala (read as "the thirty first is NYALA") and ABSTRACT (in less than 100 words).

Rules and Submission Requirements

  • All entries must be original and have not been previously published, received an award and/or submitted to any other competitions;
  • Image must be in JPG or PNG format;
  • Pixel resolution (for instagram); 1080 width X 1350 height or 1080 width X 1080;
  • Submission of the photos shall be submitted through Instagram. Each participant is required to follow NYALA instagram @nyala.my for further information and updates;
  • Participants must obtain consent of the subject or owner of the subject featured on their entries;
  • TITLE may be English OR any other appropriate language;
  • All ABSTRACT must be in English;
  • No part of the work may contain prohibited, offensive or objectionable materials (political, language, nudity, sexual etc.);
  • Participants must ensure they have full ownership of the materials submitted;
  • Entries containing any unauthorised content will be disqualified;
  • The organizer reserves the right to reproduce AND/OR retain in full or part of the submitted works AND/OR recordings for purpose of publication AND/OR purpose of archiving and exhibition AND/OR purpose of any promotional materials related to the Architectural Student Workshop, with credit of works remain owned by the submitter(s).

Judging Criteria

The jury shall evaluate the entries based on creative photography, appropriate use of title and relevant contents of the abstract. Panel jury reserves the right to apply appropriate waiver in the case of insufficient qualified short listed entries for the judging session. ALL JUDGING DECISIONS MADE ARE FINAL.
